For me, it's fours...I guess :(

1) Taking the cover off last week, a piece of shattered tempered glass fell out. Fearing the worse, I slowly pulled back the cover to discover a shattered windshield.

2) new Fusion prop is all curled over at the tips. Looks like we brushed up against something. Currently at the shop getting fixed.

3) One of the rear ballast fill pumps died....the boat is 6 years old

4) One of my trailer tires died. Luckily it didn't happen while towing.

Thank God for insurance! The windshield alone is gonna be $850 (for the starboard side). Although, cleaning up all that glass sucked!

This has certainly been a costly summer! Hopefully, these are all age-related items and I'll have a trouble-free (yeah right) season next year.

What in the world happened to the windshield under the cover? There's got to be a baseball around somewhere.

Baseball bat you mean?

Tempered glass can shatter for no reason. Doesn't happen too often, btu we have had customers that call and say they went to take a shower and where their door once stood, is just a heap of glass. Happened to my parents years ago. They woke up one morning and glass was everywhere.

Even if the glass is curved, $850 is way to high. Most places sell 1/4" tempered clear glass for less then $10 a sq/ft.

:plus1: No apparent reason, anyhow. When I was a kid the rear window in our Volvo station wagon exploded while the car was parked in the garage overnight.

Trailer, don't ask me how I know. Check your trailer and I bet you will see some chipped paint right about where the prop would hit if the boat gets too far sideways.

My Bayliner windshield blew apart while the boat was sitting on the trailer in full sun. The mfg. determined the frame was too tight and did not allow for expansion. I was not the only one. Warranty took care of it.

Bayliners have warranties?

Yeah, I have no idea what happened to the windshield. It was parked under a couple trees with the port side facing the road and the starboard side closer to the trees. So, that's where my guess comes from. $850 was the est. I got from my mechanic. Evidently, they don't keep this model of windshield in stock anymore. So, they'll have to make a special run for me. In any case, it looks like it'll take some time to get it replaced :(

I suppose it could self-imploded.....we'll never know....

Yep, there are def some scratches on the trailer where the prop might have brushed
