Extra battery connection

1995 eschelon lx... I have a small 14gage wire that connects to my battery and I have no idea what it powers. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Last time I ran the boat this wire was left off and my depth gauge didn't work... could it be to the computer?

My boat is a '95 Echelon as well. It came with only the large battery cables to the battery (no additional wires there). Did you buy new or used? If used it could be something added on by a previous owner. Is the depth gauge the only thing that does not work?
