ok guys i need some expert help.

i want to pull the ski pylon out so i can

polish it. i've removed the bolt under the

floor and pulled the turn head on top.

is there something else to remove or are they

epoxyed into the fiberglass tube under the floor?

i can't get it to budge.

also found something else when i was working it over.

seems something is going on with the packing nut.

i'm finding powdered brass under it. there are no vibration

issues and nothing has been hit.

anybody have any ideas?

thanks steve

well i want to buff it on my wheel, thats why i want to pull it.

i tried a oil filter strap wrench with a 24" snap-on breaker bar,

it never budged.

how about a cherry picker. its pulled many of olds 455 big blocks...

A little patience, along with some flexing sideways while lifting on the pylon will get it to come out. The bottom is tapered and therefore is wedged very good into the fiberglass mount (that was wrapped around that particular pylon). I haven't pulled one in years but I did polish up one of my flightcraft outboard pylon's, which turned out much better with a wheel than by hand.

Peter :)
