Stainless steel wedge plate

Recommended Posts

On page 5 of the Fall "Malibu Review" there appears to be a SS wedge plate along with a SS foil. Is Malibu finally offering a plate that won't corrode?

Yes, and it's about time. Yahoo.gif They have it listed on page 79 of the online brochure too. I have one on order, I don't have the price on it yet.

When you get the price, would you post it? What's involved in changing it? If you have to be able to get at the back of the plate, it will be a real PIA in a Sportster.

If you want to change to a SS plate then yes, you would have to pull the seatback, the gas tank, the mufflers,....PITA.

I know this because I have contemplated adding a wedge to mine to bump up the wake for my boys. Biggrin.gif Really, I swear, it's for the boys. Innocent.gif

When I took the bracket out my 2000 RLX to have it powedcoated to try and stop the corrosion all I needed to do was to be able to hold the head of the boats that go through the transom to take the nuts and bracket off. I little silicone around the bolts to help seal it up when bolting it back together. I haven't pulled the back panel of the truck apart on the new boat, but hopefully it can be down without taking the boat apart again. Not sure yet who's doing the change on this one yet. Boat goes to the dealer for winterizing and some warranty work next week. I will keep you posted.

Finally got a price from the dealer on the SS wedge bracket, $260. :) Which is only $30 more then the aluminum. Haven't found out if I get to keep the old too.

Only $30 more for Stainless vs Aluminum...goes to show you how over priced the Aluminum was.
