Finally....ropeless

Went out this weekend and tried wakesurfing again and it finally felt right so I let go of the rope and rode quite a ways before falling back. Wasn't paying enough attention to keeping it in the sweet spot but now i know I can last (ropeless) for several minutes.

Now I'm off to buying a 750lb sack and pump to help improve the wake.

What made the biggest difference for me is we decided to put the wedge down. It was actually at the highest setting (needle was straight up on the guage) and had the following

left side tank full

center half full

wedge , highest setting

9.6 mph

08 23' lsv

2 passengers and the driver.

I think by adding 750lbs in the rear locker will do the trick. I may try filling the center tank all the way.

I don't have a front tank.

any suggestions please post.

I have much smaller boat - 21ft Vride. I run:

500 lbs belly - full

750 corner - full

400 lbs on the rear seat

wedge down (only have floating wedge)

I go ropeless easy.............

If you really want to get a wave:

Put 500lbs in the bow on the surf side

Fill that center ballast tank

Add at least 200-300 lbs under your surf side seats

Fill your rear surf side tank

Throw a 500-750 lb sack in the surf side locker

Then play with the wedge to dial the shape/size.

Your boat will more than handle weight like that. I run more than that in my 09 21' Vride.

Remember:

If your wave isn't big enough; you need more weight

If your wave isn't long enough; you need more weight in the bow

If your wave is crumbly & sloppy you need to adjust your weight placement(and maybe your speed)

If your wave too 'mushy and slow' you need to speed up.

Good luck!

We tried wakesurfing for first time yesterday with new Triple XXX Pro Slasher 5'0. I think we had a good wake but can't find sweet spot where we can surf ropeless.. My set up was:

08 23' lsv

left rear side tank full

center full

bow ballast full

power wedge 2 clicks up

4 adults on surf side and 4 kids

9.6 mph

I know I gotta get 750# sac.. I hope it is all I need?
