Reupholstering a 1985 malibu skier?

Hello, well I just bought my first malibu ski boat. A 1985 malibu skier. The interior is older and needs to be reupholstered. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this. Like how much it might cost or should I just do it myself? Also the boat doesnt have a rear bench, did this boat come with one originally? I was thinking of just framing in one... I was also wondering what type of material I should use for this? Also I dont really know much about the engine, is there anyting I should look at?

Thanks

Welcome!! I am new to the crew as well. I just bought an 86 Skier. It is the blue/white color with rainbow stripes. Not a fan of that color but runs great. I, too, am looking to have interior re done. Started with removing the old skins and basically rebuilt the wood. I still need to do the driver seat. These boats come with a different back seat setup. The back seat is 2 pieces, the back and sides that would normall stay in the boat and the bench that can be removed for easier in and outs (unless you step on the seat). Do you have any pictures? Give us some more info on your boat!! Love these models nothing better than the classic ski boats!!

Had mine out this afternoon and got caught up in a rainstorm trailoring it home.....grrr :)
