Reading threads a second time

When clicking to read a thread that Ive read before it should go to the last place that I read based on the date/time stamp. For example: I click to read an existing thread at 3pm and the most recent post is 2:45pm in that thread. I have at that time read all of it. Now later in the day 5 other people add posts to the same thread. At 9pm I want to look at that thread again. It should not take me to the end. It should take me to the 2:45pm post so I start where I left off. Is this correct?

This it what happens when I read a thread form the view new content page. But if I click on any thread from inside the forums page it always takes to the beginning of the thread, i.e., page one even if there are multiple pages and I have read it before.

Hopefully this makes sense. I think this started with the new format but now I dont remember. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

It's just you.

There's a little orange icon (a little box) next to the Thread Title. Click that and it will take you to the first post that you have not read yet, If you hover over that icon it actually "says" Go To First Unread Post.

EDIT: I thought you were gonna make fun of Pete for posting a response to an AirChair wipeout photo that was posted 2½ years ago.

Uhm, well, I uhm, you know…..OK, I’m the butt end of that one. I would at least feel a little better if someone else would chime in and say they hadn’t seem that little orange box either. They could even lie for my sake. Oh well, I just have to admit I learned something today.

Just so you know...even if you were aware of the orange button, for some reason when the upgrade took place the other day it lost all of my "last read" information. Even when I clicked the orange button it was taking me to the beginning of every thread. Once I clicked on a thread (and I went to the first post) from that point on the last unread button worked as advertised.
