outside the wake

I have a 04 21 foot wakesetter XTI and have been told it is going to be hard to wakesurf behind. We havent bought a board yet so we dont know. Any suggestions on buying the board and getting a big enough wake?

We regularly surf behind a VTX, with the stock ballast

Search the ballast section for setting up your boat. There are people doing it. It's not the size that's the limitation for you, it's the orientation (direct drive, XTi layout).

Large Ballast = Large Surf Wake!

If you want to test it before buying ballast just get a lot of people and gear on your boat and pile them on the surf side only.

Buy sacs and a Hyperlite Broadcast 5'6" board. You'll be fine!

The right answer is... with a big enough board, you can surf behind anything Thumbup.gif

Should be fine for surfing LFF as you can throw a sac on the floor in the walkway and stack another on top of it and the port side seats. Setting that boat up for the other side may be a trick.

Not sure how big that side compartment is, but if you want to go goofy you could probably put some weight in there. It's just a matter of finding a sack that will fit.
