Anyone know if a replacement 160 degree t-stat for the monsoon 340 can be bought at a local autoparts store? I see them at the boat suppliers on-line and the prices do not seem to be unreasonable but I need one now...and I don't have the old one with me...its 200 miles away. Thanks.

Not typically. You could get by with one from the local auto parts store, but will likely run into an issue if running in warm water or at high RPM for a while.

The auto suppliers thermostats don't typically flow as much volume as the OEM ones.

That said, NAPA normally has a marine parts cross-reference in the store & if they have the part, you should be set.

Advance Auto Parts carries high performance thermostats. I changed mine from a 160 to a 180. The 180 they had looked identical to the factory original 160.
