09 vlx wakesetter So what is it? 340 or 350

I took the delevery of our new boat yesterday 5-15-09 and the salesman doing the demo opens the rear doors to the engine and I see the engine cover 340 monsoon, Huh? This boat is supposed to have the 350 monsoon not the 340. Did the factory ship the 350 with 340 engine covers? I dont think so. The build sheet says monsoon 350. This is my first boat and I want to make sure, is there any other way to tell them apart?

Other than that the boat drove like a caddy and produced a Huge wake. I am very happy with buying a malibu.

I am awaiting delivery of my 09 VTX which was ordered with the 350 Monsoon.

I would imagine that it is a leftover 340hp cover.

Make them replace it if it is the 340 monsoon. Get the serial number of the engine and call up indmar and ask them what motor it is, they will tell you.

Indmar states the 340 indmar is the same motor as the new 350 monsoon the only difference is a computer upgrade for 10 horsepower other than that they are the same motor. As for the 340 engine cover I have on my 09 they will be sending my dealer a 350 cover for me.
