Loose Ignition Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi All. I have a Response LX and am having some difficulty with the ingition loosening up. When I thread the ignition through the dash there is a nut on the back that's supposed to tighten and hold the ignition in place. However, I can only get this hand tight and after a few turns of the key, the ignition has loosened up. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The nut on the back only serves to adjust the depth that the ignition sticks out of the dash.

Just tighten up the front nut/rubber water protection thingy while holding the ignition from the back and you should be all set. You may need to back off the screw in the back to get more depth and "bite" on that front screw.

Thanks for the replies, guys. There's no washer on the back.

99response,

I tightened the rubber "thingy" down as much as I could. Ill try backing the nut behind the dash off a bit to see if I can get the front nut tighter. Thanks for the help.
