Wake Rope recomendation

hey, fairly new to wakeboarding and bought my first line at 65'. Soon after I learned that is pretty short from a couple of fellows....both members of this site actually.......

So I need a recomendation for a wake rope that is the best bang for the buck kinda deal. I am not made of money....a lot of purchases recently....and I am a beginner.

Also, who has the good deals?....let me know.

You probably have to add your handle to that too. that's an additional 5'. Running at 70ft for a beginner is fine IMO.

Take a look at the Accurate Fuse and Jacket series if you're inclined to go bigger, but you won't get much larger unless you get an A-Line.

Look at the Company wake pro series comes 2 choices of color black or white. The black has a tee bar both ropes come 90 feet and coated line so no matter how big someones wants to go you have the rope Thumbup.gif

I keep two Straightline Ropes in my boat. The one hanging off the pylon most of the time is actually a kneeboard rope with sections. I normally have it at 60 feet. It has a straightline tractor handle and has a braided rope lead from the handle to the rope section. Further it has 2 floats in the yoke near the handle. The reason we like it is that it floats. As you know the normal non floating handles can drop from view of an inexperienced skier. Us regulars don't mind the floating feature at times also.

I've had these 2 Straightline ropes for 8 to 10 years or so. IIRC they each cost me $65-$75 or so. They'll last me another 10.

I could not find a picture of this kneeboard rope on Straightline's website so they may have discontinued it. The other rope I keep nearby is just a regular 8 section Straightline waterski rope with tractor handle.

The floating handle rope looks a lot like this Overton's Gladiator Kneeboard rope :

I have been very happy with the SL Viper lines.

You should go to AWS's demo and sale this weekend at 10th Street. They should have some good deals.

Man to bad it isn't running sunday......I don't think I can make it......plans for kayaking. Maybe they will give me Saturdays price today if I tell them I cant make it...worth a try.

Over time I've tried a lot of different lines, but in the end I keep coming back to the HL Yellow Jacket. Had it for 4 full seasons, no kinks, knots or tears at all. Don't get hung up on the length of the main line, in fact IMO the shorter the better since that gives you more flexibility for beginners. You can always add extensions to get length.

Oh & for a beginner, 65' is fine, & is probably even a little long when learning w2w crossings.

Plus1.gif I have 2 on my boat. Had the first one for at least 5 years and still run it. Have the other one as a back up. Don't forget, the brighter the color of the rope, the easier to see it in the water when you're picking up a skier.

decent price.

That is exactly what was in the back of my mind while I was typing. This hasn't been a problem yet just my brother in laws anchor rope. Biggrin.gif

Call me A.R. but, after every outing I let everything completely dry before storing it.

Agreed. I may be wrong, but I'm a big believer in extending the life of a product by letting all of our gear dry out properly after putting the boat away. Of course it's easy where we live with it being so dry up here on the high desert.

Dawg,

Yeah, buy a good quality product, treat it right, & you'll get a lot of time out of it. Check out the discounts section, there are a few vendors that will help with the overall cost.
