Coolant temp sensors

Where are they and how do you check if they are bad? I read one site that said that they should be checked with a volt meter. If they are below 4 volts then there is a problem. Is this true?

You check them with an ohm meter. The ohms vary with temperature. I posted what it should measure at different temps last year about this time.

its hard to test at all unless you know the values to look for at cretian temps. they are cheap enough at your local parts store to swap it with a new 1
