What do I need to duplicate the fly high $99 pump kit

Recommended Posts

There seems to be a big price difference between:

I assume the pumps both come with cigarette lighter connections? So it's just a matter of getting a few fittings and some hose right? Is it worth buying the parts separately or just buy the combo deal?

Both pumps do not come with cigarette lighter connections. The raw Attwood T1200 pump is something we offer for people that are building integrated ballast systems. It has a 12v+ and ground connection designed to be physically connected to the wiring that will run the pump.

Along with a little time (very little) you would need the following items to duplicate the Tsunami Pump:

- Attwood T1200 Pump - $40

- Fly High W734 Fitting - $7

- Fly High W738 Fitting - $6

- Fused cigarette lighter adapter - $2

- ~12 feet of 16AWG two conductor wire - $6

- 2 hose clamps - $2

- ~3 feet of 1 1/8" ID PVC Hose - $10

Obviously the prices on the hose, wiring, and hose clamps are just estimates, so if you already have some laying around then you can save a little. You'll also need some solder and waterproof heatshrink to make sealed connections. The total as listed above comes out to $73. Is it worth it to save $27? Depends on how much your time is worth, but functionally there won't be any difference in how the pumps work.
