port ballast fill pump on a 2004 Malibu Wakesetter VLX

Recommended Posts

The port ballast fill pump doesn't run, the circuit breaker pops and I can't find the location of the fill pump on my 2004 Wakesetter VLX.

I have a replacement pump, but need to know where to look. FYI, I've checked the three pumps in the center console just between the captains chair and 1st mate. I don't think it's there.

Is this something I can maintain, or should I take this one to the shop?

Thanks,

WideawakeAZ

I have a 2002 VLX. The Port fill pump is located behind the cover at the front of the rear storage compartment. Open the engine hatch and look towards the outside of the boat under the carpeted cover. You'll see it.

Or remove the rear center seat cushion and look back to the side of the transmission/vdrive.
