I have a 05 vlx and having a check engine warning come on randomly. the boat does not run bad or skip. the pressures and temp gauges are all good. All fluids are good. Any ideas?

The Hammerhead engines are known to throw an alarm if the oil is a little low but still in the operating range on the dipstick. See thread in here about indmar replacement dip sticks to address the issue of keeping the oil at the correct level. This might be your issue.
