Check for loose swim platform screws

Recommended Posts

Did a search and didn't see this mentioned anywhere. In doing routine spring maintenance, took off the fiberglass swim platform to clean the transom and noticed more than half the screws attaching the platform to the frame loose (some several turns!)--especially closest to the transom. If you have never checked, probably not a bad idea . . . I certainly wouldn't want to take an unexpected plunge into the now 54 degree water, not to mention send the platform to the bottom!

Thanks for the tip. It always seems screws and bolts wiggle there way loose on a boat.
