It may be a copycat, but the tower design makes sense. You can only do so much with physics. Although, I will agree with you that now our boats wont stand out as much.

Did Malibu invent the sweep forward tower design or did they steal the idea from Formula, Sea-Ray and many other companies that were doing it before Malibu. Actually Malibu did not design the tower themselves they just bought the design/towers from Metcraft which incidentally by what I have been told was pitched to another manufacture before Malibu if they had not turned it down Malibu would most likely still have tube towers. Here are a couple of pics of "towers" that were prior to the illusion, the only thing Malibu did was put it on a wake oriented boat before anyone else.

Go look at my post history I have said it before when I owned a illusion tower the only thing I did not like about it was it needed to be taller

When we started looking at new boat one of the top things we looked at was a tower we could hang speakers on with out hitting my head. I have not hit my head on the pair of Wet Sounds Pro485's hanging from the new tower yet...

Funny because, I have heard from several sources that the design/tower was offeed to another manufacture before Malibu.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again , every boat out there is a copy of some design thats been around for decades, where do you draw the line.

Who invented the first wakeboard boat, in any configuration every boat would be a copy, does it realy matter if your tottaly happy with your boat?

Edgeski is correct it was more of an effort to snub C/C's patent and that was from the horse's mouth.

That was a stut (illusion) put on by the people of Wake World. Wally World hade them on their boat rides in the early 80's. They actually were installing them the one time the park was closed...you know, when the moose outside told you so.
