Swim Platform Bolts

Recommended Posts

The bolts for the swim platform are loose and when I try to tighten them they spin. I am getting some movement and flex when standing on the platform. I'm not sure how to get to them, if at all, with out removing the rear seat and gas tank. Any ideas? Thanks. I have a 23' XTI

they are right above where the floor meets the transom. if the tank or seat are in the way, you will have to move them. they have nyloc's on the inside

If those bolts are truly loose, and you have to do a lot of work to get at the nuts on the inside (remove gas tank and what not, (damn DDs)) I would remove the bolts and reseal them. The sealant is surely trash if the bolts are loose and moving in and out.

If your going to fix it i would do it right, remove everything, re-seal with brackets with clean fresh silicone. Use Blue loc-tite on the nylon nuts (make sure those babies are not going anywhere) and get everything bolted back up.
