Be prepared to dig deep, I mean real deep into your pockets.. The 23 kit will not be available for a few more months but the vtx, vlx, and 247 will be ready very soon.

Ok, if I had 1000.00 in my pocket, just how deep would I have to reach to buy the Malivue kit? Deep, real deep, or really really deep? Let's say I have 1000.00 in another pocket. Would I have to dig into that pocket too?

Based on the stunning performance of the JBL black box, wedge calibration (or lack of), delay with Mux switches, no mute capabilities, and all other general problems with the 08's that I don't know about, I think it should be part of the Make-it-right program, but at a cost under $1k. How much is the option when getting an 09 with malivue?

***Update***

I forgot to mention Illusion XS bushings and Throttle control, but they were both fixed before we received our boat.

Jeez, I was aware of those glitches, but when you put them all together like that, some kind of perk to 08 owners makes sense. I know I have had to throw some cash at some of those issues. Pretty sure the Malivue option is around 1200.00. Perhaps just making it available is seen as a perk. I'm sure the final cost will be determined by how much stuff needs to be changed.

doesn't this kind of screw those of us who upgraded to an 09? especially those of us who have a VTX. there wasn't a hull change that I know of b/w an 08 and an 09 so malivu, autowedge and a windshield change were the only differences right? doesn't this hurt me a little on resale? as if the resale of all of these boats hasn't been hurt enough anyway?

I'm not sure why it would. I can see how it would bring up the value of an '08 though, particularly one that has the upgrade.

When slider & Malibudude were at Oasis on Friday, they were putting this whole setup in an '08. Very cool of Malibu to make this available for the '08 boats.

I definitely see your point and I agree in principle. But, I am sure anyone in the market for a Malibu knows to avoid the 08 boats. Especially if they spend any time on TMC. The make it right program will help with buyer confidence, but I am certain that some buyers will see it as a band aid. I experienced "make it right" first hand and I know that they "made it right" as much as possible. However, prospective buyers may not know that. Even after upgrading an 08 with "make it right" and MaliView, the 09 boat will still have the edge and be worth a couple more bucks to an informed buyer.

EDIT.......Boat of the week is a different story altogether.

You would still need to dip into a third pocket from my understanding.

07 is out of the queshtion. The mux switches are what make it available.

My understanding is that you have to replace the dash, cpu, and a few sensors. you will have to have the dept sensors as well so you might have to upgrade that if you dont have it to begin with.

I think it is great that they are offering this but it leads me to a bigger queshtion. What is coming for the 2010 line up? I find it hard to belive they would offer it as an upgrade if it wasen`t changing for the up coming lineup. something to think about.

When you refer to "the whole set up", does that include auto wedge in addition to Malivue?

Would there be anyway to get the autowedge functionality? You shouildn'e need the Mux setup for that. All that should be required would be a true feedback sensor and new computer. I do automation for a living and think this could possibly be done fairly simply without using Malivue.
