spider cracks

Has anyone had problems with spider cracks where the swimboard brackets mount to the boat? I've had mine repaired 3 times and the cracks keep re-appearing, even in different spots (some up and some down). The repair guy says it's a manufacture defect but the dealer says nothing....

I had that problem with my 2004 23 LSV. I assumed the loose bolts on the platform brackets had caused it. After a repair job and tight bolts, the cracks showed up again, but not as bad. The repair guy said if he fixed it again, the cracks would come right back. He did not say why. I learned to live with it. I eventually sold the boat to a certified Indmar mechanic. Didn't bother him a bit. He said he sees it all the time.

I've had the same problem. Just had them repaired for the the 2nd time and hopefully the last, but suspect they will come back. I don't think that the holes for the platform mounting bolts are chamfered enoungh to prevent the gelcoat from cracking.

With the size of your crews that is definitely a possibility.

I'll have to check mine now, I've had up to three people on the platform and did mention that one person should get off. What are the weight ratings, does anyone know?
