Heater Question

When building my sub box this winter I used up a good portion of the space underneath the dash. Looking back at it, I probably should have left room for a heater. Whistling.gif Has anyone mounted a heater in a different location then under the dash? All of the boats I have been in have it located there and I don't know if that is for convenience or out of necessity? Could one be added behind the observers seat in the storage compartment? We have a great wasted space between the bow and the storage area that we usually fill with orange PDF's.

I assume your referring to the driver's side dash, which is where it's located in my Vride.

I installed the one in my 205 under the passenger side dash. It worked great. Instead of doing a vent in the driver's side kick panel, I just installed 2 hot tubes, one was aimed towards the driver & about 3' long. The other aimed towards the rear of the boat & like 6' long. It allowed us to use the tubes pretty much anywhere in the boat.

I just installed a second heater in the back under the rear corner seat mounted up against the wall to the vdrive compartment.

One other thing.... The one I installed I actually hung it from the glovebox. This meant that I was still able to throw all the gear on the floor behind the spotters seat without any problem.

I have seen it in both places. My boat has two heaters. Biggrin.gif
