driver seat lift

Has anyone tried with any success to add a lift mechanism to the drivers seat. I'm aware of a power seat option. I would be happy with a manual lift as much as I would with a powered version. I don't really care if I have power forwards and back. The current manual operation is fine. I have an 06 21 LSV and it does have the bolster seat. But I'd like to sit in the seat with the bolster down to have full back support. BTW, according to Malibu the power seat option only raises the seat about 1 3/4". I'd like to see a rise of 4" to 8". A pneumatic rise is just as good as a power rise. A google web search on this subject hasn't turned up much for ski boats.

Somewhere in the past was a write-up on a permanent lift. I added (4) 6" pipe nipples as spacers and some longer bolts between the seat base and bottom of the seat. After it's done, you don't realize they are even there, and you're permanently higher. I don't ever wish I could go lower again.

I forget what the seat mechanism looks like on my Bu, but could something like this be adapted to it? http://cgi.ebay.com/Stainless-steel-lab-jack-stand-labjack-scissor-8-New_W0QQitemZ330289573595QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

It's a stainless steel scissor lift with a 8" platform and 3" to 11" lift.

I contacted the vendor of the lift, and he was unsure of the rated capacity. Here's another lift/jack that's 12 volt and one ton rated. I'm sure that between the two we could make something that would work well. Unfortunately, my Bu is a few hours away (in storage) and I don't remember what the seat base is like. If anyone can post some pictures, I'll do some more research/design for the project and see what we can come up with.

That's a good find.

The only problem is that the top part has a really small surface area that will rise. It looks like about 1.5 sq. in. We would need to fab. some sort of plate to spread out that to about 1.5' sq. But then, there's gonna be rocking issues. Good price though. I just recently bought something from those guys on ebay. Decent seller.

That is a good price; you could buy two of them and figure a way to work them both from one controler?
