shaft log

Recommended Posts

has anyone put a shaft log on ? is it something I can do at home or do I need to send the boat to the shop?

You can do it. This guy bought his first inboard, a 1989 Supra after his Bayliner got totalled in an accident. He discovered it had a leaky hull, due to a crappy shaft log repair/replacement from a previous accident.

all you need to do is;

unbolt your coupler from your transmission or v drive.

remove the coupler from the shaft

Pull the Prop

slide the shaft towards the rudder

unscrew and remove shaft log.

Reinstall in reverse order

i may make it sound eaiser than it really is

a dd would be easier than a vd
