Titan lift off - Lever forward or backward?

Colorado Boat'n

Recommended Posts

It looks like I can mount the lift off portion with the lever being either forward or backward (flipped 180) on my illusion. Is one way correct or just based on preferance? If so; which do you think is better?

Our Lift-off can be installed either way. I prefer to have the lever pointing towards the bow of the boat so the rack comes off towards the stern. That seems to be easier for most people to handle.

We typically mount the latches facing the stern.

If your going to remove them from inside the boat (which makes the most sense since you usually don't step up on your trailer and try and do it) it's easier to have the latch facing towards the stern. It's really easy to switch the direction the base mounts so i would try it both ways and see which way feels more comfortable to you.

I have four lifts offs and have the levers to the stern. Whe I put them on origanaly I was in the boat and that seemed to make the most sense when putting them on and off.

The lift offs are great, you can pull off the racks while trailering so no bugs and road grime. Also what I did was get four board racks and a surf rack. Normaly I keep on three board racks and the surf rack, but if I have a bunch of guys going out with us who have thier own boards I can put the other board rack on and hold 8.
