Power Wedge

Recommended Posts

hi there, i picked up a vtx 2 fridays ago brand new and spent the weekend putting hour on it. towards the end we decided to play with teh wedge to see how it worked ect and get use to it.

we were able to adjust the wedge while going boarding speeds and check out the difference it made.

after the weekend i took it back to get its first service and then after this i can no longer adjust the wedge while the boat is at speed.

so i am confused at what is normal? should i be able to adjust at boarding speeds?

You should be able to adjust the wedge at boarding speed. Our guage is not as reliable as I would like. Can you notice a difference in performance while moving the wedge up or down?

worked it out never mind. boat has to be running in eng not metric for you to be able to adjust at boarding speeds.

do you mean imperial or cruise control engaged vs. metric

Can anyone confirm this? Can u engage the PW at surfing speeds? We did tried this this weekend and jammed the actuators and popped a 30A fuse under the dash.

Thanks

Yes you can adjust the wedge at surf speeds.

I can engage mine at 12 mph and below. You may want to ck the cylinders. They can corrode and cause drag which causes the 30a fuse to blow due to too much amperage draw.

I'd like a clarification. Are you asking if you can put the wedge down at surf speeds? It can't safely be deployed at surf speeds, but it can be adjusted through it's wake-shaping range (8-12 o'clock on guage) while underway.

Ya is it hard on the wedge/actuators if the wedge is up all the way and then putting it down all the way when you are surfing (10mph) or wakeboarding(20mph)?
