I have an 02 Response that started beeping at me recently. Thanks to this site, I've determined the problem to be from the oil pressure switch which seems to be somewhat common. It looks like a fairly standard switch but has anyone had success replacing the switch with a part from the local auto parts store or is this a dealer item?

If you want to keep the watertight connector on the wire that goes to the switch, you will have to buy thru a marine supplier, even Merc. If you are not that concerned about that, then an auto part store switch will work too. Get one that closes at pressure below 6 psi.
