HI!

I have always been an HO guy, so my recommendations would be a System 8 or Annex, but if you are used to a KD, the D3 X5 might be a good way to go but its not cheap.

The Annex is a great ski for the money.

When you say "New ski recommendations", do you mean a different ski that can be pre-owned, or do you want a brand new one. You can probably get a good 2-4 year-old ski that was top of the line at that time. Just thought I'd ask for clarification.

Personnally, I love the connelly rocket (late 90's). It turns on a dime. I used to get to 28' off @36 on it (of course I'm older now). The Concept is a bit too slow for me, and the F1 doesn't turn quite as sharp as my rocket, but it's a great ski too.

May want to look at a Goode as well...but I have no experience on one.

I guess it doesn't really matter brand new or used, I'd be more comfortable with a new one, but maybe an 06 or 07 model?

Since you have been on a KD 7000 stick with the KD/D3 Line. I would suggest an X5 as Mentioned above, or a Nomad RC both can be had for $500 or less on Ski it again. I'd also look for a 66.5 or 66 in the nomad.

If you want to save some money on a new ski give wileys www.wileyski.com a call. They know skiing and are very good to work with. (206) 762-1300 Ask about some factory blemish? If you are looking for a double hi rap rubber bindings you won't find a better one then wileys.

If you don't mind a good used ski check out Ski-it-Again.com under slalom you can find some nice things for less money. As said you can Get on a top of the line one or two year old ski cheep.

Check ski-it-again for used stuff.

Yep, I looked yesterday and they have about 100 different slalom skis listed. A lot of Goode, KD, Connelly, etc...and for resonable prices. That's a good site.

If there is a shop in your area, talk to them about a demo program. When I bought my ski a few years back, the shop I bought it from had a program where you could rent a demo ski for a day up to six different times, and the rental price was applied to the price of your purchas. I skied on four different skis (plus the one that I bought twice) and wasn't out any money at the end. Also, at the end of the season, you might be able to get a great price on one of the demo skis at the shop. Just a good way to see what is out on the market IMHO.
