snodder

My buddy is up at my cottage going for a tour in my 2001 wakesetter at about 15mph, he hears a deep throaty sound from the engine so he shuts the engine down. He starts the engine up again and still hears the deep throaty sound, he kills it for the second time. When he goes to restart it, the engine won't turn over...almost as if the battery is dead (he hears tick, tick...tick, tick. Do you think this is just a simple problem ie dead battery or is there another issue. I replaced the battery this summer because the old one wouldn't hold a charge. Thx

Maybe your alternator is the issue.

The ticking sounds like a dead battery.
