Floor problem

@raming,

How did you remove the carpet from the original panel?

Does anybody have a source for OEM Carpet?

I have a 2014 Response TXi with a sagging rear floor panel. My local dealer supplied me with a "replacement" that was made out of marine ply. The replacement didn't fit very well (not cut square).  If I can salvage the carpet from the original panel or find a source for OEM carpet (mine is gray) I plan to make my own out of coosa board or similar.

Near impossible to get matching carpet.  I'd heat it with a heat gun and try to peel the original carpet off.

What's the panel made of?  My 08 is aluminum, would be fairly easy to bend back straight if sagging.  Hell, thats the most flat part of my floor!

It’s the aluminum honeycomb. It’s been sagging for a few years. Last season it was worse than just sagging, it was actually “crunchy” in places like the honeycomb structure was failing.

If you are the original owner, Malibu should cover this under your hull warranty.  They replaced @filftwalton's rear hatch, floor hatch, and floor cooler covers a few years ago.  The floor panels came with new carpet on them.

Thank You. They did, but their replacement solution was a couple pieces of marine ply, sandwiched together and carpeted. It wasn’t cut exactly square, and fit terribly. I had to peel back the carpet and shave the edges of the panel (and then reseal) to get it to fit. It looks like crap.

You said the dealer did that.  Malibu should be shipping you quality replacements built from the correct materials.
