oil pressure up to 70 psi

Recommended Posts

Chia

was out for a boat ride and noticed the oil pressure was up to 70psi, it seems to me that it does not usually go beyond 60psi. I turned off the engine, checked the oil (all ok) turned it back on and the pressure did not go beyond 60psi after that.

I guess I will keep an eye on it to see if it happens again or is it normal that the oil pressure will get to 70psi?

thanks

I see 70-80 psi all the time under heavy acceleration/load. That's on quite a few Malibu's, not just mine.

Don't worry about it, especially if you are diligent about checking oil levels, etc. Be more worried about seeing 0 psi!

Like Chris said, no oil pressure is the problem. No Pressure = No oil. High pressure means it's working.
