where is warning beep device in old Malbu sunsetters?

Going waaaaaayyy back --- I'm restoring an 87 sunsetter completely (all new stringers, composite floor and interior!!!) Got almost everything done but when I dropped the motor back in and rewired I noticed it doesn't give the warning beeps before starting. I can't remember where the device that actually beeps is located. Is it in one of the gauges (tach?) or is it generated from one of the switches on the actual motor.... ANY info you have would be great. I've got a new dash and gauges going in but I'd like to keep everything working like it was stock if possible.

Thanks

I have two under the dash zip-tied to the wiring harness on a 95 Sunsetter.

( little round black plastic beepers about the diameter of a quarter and 1/2" thick.

Thanks. No luck though. Couldn't find anything like that under the dash or to the harness. Any other ideas?

My 1990 has no warning beepers and never did. I don't think our old boats had them yet.

Does your engine have an ECM? I think the beepers are tied to the ECM (like a check engine light in a car) and if your engine does not have an ECM, your boat may have never had a beeper.
