Rips in seats

My 02 VLX the back 3 seat are ripping at the bead on the perferated side of the seats. Malibu says that the warrenty is 1 year, the V&G Vinyl warrenty says 5 years.

What is it?

This is what I understand to be the case, which is another way of saying I don't know for sure. But, I beleive that the 5 year warranty is for vinyl defects (such as fading, cracking, etc. but malibus warranty is one year on the beading and stuff because they're the ones who did manuafctured the particular seat. In other words, the vinyl company is not responsible for the way Malibu cuts and sews their product, and malibu warrants their construction for a year. Translation: if you catch it real early, a good vinyl repair shop can extend the life of the seam, but you are probably looking at getting new skins.
