Propeller Selection

I have a 1998 Echelon walk over Openbow. This boat has a wedge and the 325 HP Monsson Engine. It came with a 13x13 (i believe) and I want to buy a new propeller and am interested in some people's experiences. Here is some B/G info:

-We wakeboard and wakesurf 90% of the time (speeds between 14-22 mph).

-The wedge is down and there is usually 400-500lbs of fat sacs in the back, along with a couple of people (average 180 each).

-We are having difficulty keeping the boat at a a constant speed (during both Wakeboarding and surfing)

-We do slalom ski here and there at approx 34mph (10%)

-We never really go over 36MPH for any reason other than skiing and traveling to-from the doc.

I've heard that 3-blades (like the OJ 13 x 11.5) are good for being able to pull with a lot of weight. I've also heard that the 4-blade (12.5 x 12 .110 cup) holds speed better. I am a total rookie on this stuff, and am looking for anyone with some knowledge on the topic.

Sorry one last question: I was told by Kevin from Kevin's Prop Shop in Antioch that The MalibuCrew does a group buy on props around April to get a good discount. Any info on this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much, sorry if too much detail. Feel free to direct me to a past string if this type of info has already been discussed.

We are looking to do a GB on props soon, around springtime. Not sure whether we'll have OJ and Acme or just one brand this time. Since you load up the boat, I'd go w/ the 11.5. That'll cut bit off the top end but makes it easier to hold the slower speeds for wakeboarding. We slalom/board 50/50 behind my SLXI and the 11.5 works great for both.

IIRC G!!! whom has a '93 Echelon has a Acme 525 on his 13x12

Here is a linkto DD prop discussion

Eric @ OJ is good about letting people try different props and offers great advice based upon usage.
