brady check valves

Im putting together my parts for the ballast system. Ive got one question on the spring loaded check valves. I called brady and they sent me to DO-IT BEST hardware. All I could find was the spring loaded ones from them.

There website (brady's) said they made them in spring loaded and non spring loaded. All of you guys that used these did you get the spring loaded ones? To me the non loaded would let water flow through the valve with less restriction. Brady says their design flows 50% more than other valves, although they did not specify if it was both types or just one style of the valve. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC, the non-loaded ones operate on a gravity-mechanism, so you have to be extra-careful on the orientation. I could be wrong, though.
