08 MALIBU WAKESETTER LSV

I currently own a 06 malibu wakesetter VLX. I am thinking of upgrading to an 08 wakesetter LSV. Does anyone have any thoughts on this new boat? How does it compare to the VLX? Also how do you compare the diamond hull to the wake hull?

I don't have experience with the LSV but i had a similar question before I got my VLX. WakeGirl and the others on this forum were great in answering this forum.

As WakeGirl mentioned to me, the LSV has a larger surface area = more buoyancy thus more weight to produce a wake. LSV would be capable of producing a larger wake than the VLX, but would probably required more weight to do it. The surf wake would probably be better. WakeGirl mentioned that some prefer the wake the of the VLX for wakeboarding in terms of shape.

Diamond hull: again, no experience, but unless you plan on doing skiing i wouldn't bother.

The LSV has more room for people, its a very nice and large boat. I was tempted to get the LSV and availability was the reason I chose the VLX over the LSV. I am very happy with VLX and would get another one. If i were to get a larger boat, I would go for a 247. My crew is usally around 6-8 and I've never had a problem with space. Evne with 11 people in the boat, everyone is comfortable.

YM,

Welcome to the site! This issue on the Diamond vs Wake hull has been discussed many many times. Use the search button and poke around a bit, I am sure you will find it.

In the meantime, here is a thread specific to the 2008 LSV
