Recommended Posts

Use the recommended 40W, though brand choice is up to you as long as it meets the minimum API grade level

The Monsoon & LCRs typically recommend the 15w40.

The 383 Hammerheads are straight 50W.

Anyone out there with a late 90's Mercruiser 350 Mag that with oil recommendations? I have read a bunch of posts and so far I have gone from Mobile 1 to Amsoil to Rotella. Now I saw a post that said that the Merc engines should use straight W30 or W40 otherwise the oil pressure alarm might go off. :unsure:

I am sold on the Napa Gold filter but I would appreciate a recommendation for oil for this application for Wisconsin climate.
