    Compression Test results - Thoughts??

Supercharged and turbo motors are typically lower compression.

    2020 vs 2021 MXZ

23mxz has had the same hull since debuted until it was redesigned in 2024

  6. Getting a late start on my winter project... Overall dimension 44mm. Length is 39+153+43 mm= 235mm long (Inside hook to coil to Inside hook) Coil is 5mm thick. 29 coils. Using a luggage weight tool, I can start to spread the first coils with 45 lbs of pull and get decent deflection with 70-80 pounds. My two racks are ~15lbs/each (30lbs )+ Two 8 inch tower speakers ~7lbs/ea (15lbs) + bimini, lights, (~15lbs) and tower itself.

    2020 vs 2021 MXZ

I'm looking at a 2020 23MXZ with a Monsoon 450 engine and 2021 23MXZ with a M6di engine. Someone told me the hull changed between 2020 and 2021? Is this true, or is there any other differences between 2020 and 2021? Is the M6di better than the Monsoon 450?

Got 30% off from my last deal with local. Don't plan on going back there though.

I totally get that. But if you have an issue that needs warranty or the vinyl loses its cooling benefit, that’s no fun.

Well the boat tracks straight now when under way.....but they scratched the hell out of the hull power loading it on the trailer. Always something...

    Tommys vs Malibu

Assuming you have a local dealer other than Tommys, I bet you could get close to that price/discount from them. And not have to deal with hassles of shipping, warranty, or (potential) bankruptcy.

    Tommys vs Malibu

DAI, that pretty close to the out the door they showed me, but mine was on a 2023. Dealers who are still Malibu dealers showed me 28% off left over 2023 & they didn't have the BS $5000 Prep & Freight Fee added in. I will say, the guy I talked to said don't be afraid to show me a lower offer.

That is the exact same thing we put on our RV ABS shower walls and shower pans we manufacture for the RV industry. I am not saying this is right or wrong, but it is a basic CYA statement.

If the first quote is true, “their” 4% doesn’t matter. It’s what M&T is willing to take.

I was pretty sure the only thing you can use on it is a mild soap. Babes made a version, but nothing else was approved as far as I knew.

Here is what Knoxville sent me on a 2024 LSV23. $183,700 out the door.

    Compression Test results - Thoughts??

Basically you want consistency across the cylinders, and that everything is above a minimum spec. Think of it as the health of each cylinder's sealing capability. If you can't compress the air and fuel, you get less boom. You don't want to see one or a few cylinders with really low results compared to the others, as obviously those lower numbers mean sealing has been compromised to some degree. The engine will still run with low numbers, but you have less efficient combustion, lots of blow by, higher oil consumption, oil dilution, etc. Minumum 125 and this engine's lowest cylinder is 190, you're good to go!

    2023 Amplifiers/Blackbox

I recommend to order thru TTI, as you can type the part number straight in, and you get what you need. I have ordered hundreds of DT0X-XX-PB parts and they have always been correct.
  24. I ended up picking up the platform for a 06 the guy had locally. He dropped in price quite a bit. I need to do a few gelcoat chip fixes, make the spacer for the mounting bracket like you mentioned, and also make a spacer to correct the difference in gap due to hull radius difference. But the new platform is a bit longer so that'll be nice. I have a traction pad on order and waiting to hear back from the local MB dealer as to how much their bolt on fold out step is from the factory. My plan right now for the gap between the boat and hull is layers of 3/8" uhmw screwed into the platform that I'll put EVA traction on top of to hide the lines. I'll either us UHMW, EPVC, or HDPE for the bracket spacer. Depends what my local supplier and my leftover material shelf has fits the dimensions. I have 3m 4000 adhesive on the way which I know will not be a 100% adhesion glue but will help the screws to keep it all together. Then will have to contour the UHMW to match the radius of the hull.

Last spring I bought some adams ceramic ..like yours but before graphene. Buffedout my boat and applied it. Worked good. Also buffed and applied it to my son's f150 we kept for him while he was in Okinawa..20y marine master seargent also my jeep tj. For a consumer grade product it works great. Spray on a microfiber towel and wipe on..wait 2min or so..buff off with mf towel. The small bottle ..say 10oz..is only half empty.

They just don't make boats that sexy anymore. Malibu's heyday, in my opinion. Congrats!
