Glad the install went well, it looks great! Thanks for the shoutout as well. To polish it up, get ahold of wetsounds and they can send you new amp logos to orient upright!

My point is, there used to be years with no changes whatsoever. No new models, perhaps a change from rotary switches to backlit toggles, maybe a new gel color, etc. and people were still upgrading and entering the market. I remember when the original MLS system came out, which was all a wake setter had for ballast, which was a 500# fat sac in the ski locker. I remember when the sun kicker came out, which was only a Sunsetter LX with a tower and MLS. My point being, inexplicable new entrants to wakeboats have come out of the woodwork for decades, and eventually that will resume.

    2005 response LXI

I had an 05 r Lxi. Loved it. Only thing I would caution is that that era hammerhead was one of the more problematic engines Malibu put its name on. That’s not to say you won’t have great luck with it, but there were more problems with it than the monsoon. That’s for sure. That said, a new long block can be had for less than you would think.

Depends. I have to check my source.

Not so much "the market" as the players who keep things moving even if when don't have to. With money not being free, they don't have to. Wake boats are going to appeal to a much smaller percentage of boaters than pontoons, runabouts, cabin cruisers, etc....hence like The Hulk keeps saying, they are hurting the most. But it'll come back in time, it always does.

I”m not saying you’re wrong, but my family’s first boat was a mid-80s Nautique and we’ve had inboards, sometimes multiple, for almost 40 years (damn that makes me feel old). The feeling that the market must be saturated has been around for decades. This is a significant blip, but it due time, we will all once again be scratching our heads as to who is buying these boats
  8. Feels like a regulator by your description. Once you get the boat running the pump stays on and masks the regulator issue.
  9. Could also be the bendix gear on the starter.

That, and add to it comments echoed here. The new models roll out, the features aren't leaps and bounds improving over previous models anymore, but the prices keep going up and up and up. Some form of market saturation has to apply here. If you're not loaded and trading in a boat every year just to have the newest model, why keep upgrading?

From some FB posts, there have been others in your situation that have had luck reaching out to another nearby dealer. They may be able to advocate on your behalf. And I'm sure they'd like to make the sale!
  13. Probably the solonoid on the starter. Your sure the batteries are fully charged?

We have a deposit in with Tommy's on a new build. Manager said the bank now owns our boat under receivership. We would like our deposit back and buy a used boat elsewhere. What are the chances of getting that deposit back?
  15. Hello all, newbie here, having a issue and was hoping for advice, I have a 2015 wakesetter 24MXZ with 427 corvette motor, while on water this weekend i stopped the engine by pressing the button as usual and heard kind of a clunk( NOT VERY LOUD, JUST LIKE A CLIINK). went to start engine back up and when i press the start button it sounds like the starter is spinning but not engaging to anything, its not turning the motor over. any suggestions on what i may have going on? any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Here is a video of the fuel pressure when I use throttle only and get it to 1k rpm https://youtube.com/shorts/Y4JU9jgjxi8?si=Atnkk5Ig5Pt6W7pp

The dealer we purchased our boat from closed a year after our purchase. We have been using Tommy’s in Rancho Cordova, CA and have an appointment tomorrow to have our screens replaced (under warranty) along with normal service. What I find interesting is when you go to find a dealer on the Malibu website and type in our zip code, we get No Results. We are in Northern California. Find it hard to believe the site would not direct me to a dealer, even if it is 300 miles away. I will post an update tomorrow after our boat is dropped off. Thanks to all who have posted informative updates on the current situation.

Some of that low rate commercial debt rolled over?
  19. Tested the boat on the fake a lake, first key up doesn't get to pressure. 2 or 3 key ups and it starts no issue. Fuel pressure sits on 58 - 57 psi. Hopefully can take it somewhere this weekend and test it under load. SHould they hold pressure when key turns off? i feel like it should t just go straight back down to 0.

Sounds like they were burning cash on just about everything… … except the boats they collected money on

I think that’s easily explainable… wake boats have become the upper end of the recreational, inland lake boating industry. For years, a lot of people just wanting to get on the water chose wake boats (aka status boats) because nothing says cool like a modern wake boat + money was cheap, so why not get the cool boat with the loud speakers and the clamping racks?? now that money is no longer cheap (and I don’t just mean boat loans) that same buyer who just wants to be on the water doesn’t care about looking cool so much as making the damn boat (and house and car) payment. So they are buying cheaper toons (if they are buying at all)…
  22. I have a 2012 VTX with a Monsoon 350. I’ve been having temperature fluctuations while at speed for a while now. At speed, the temps are about 175-190, but the temp drops down to a cool 160-ish as soon as I return to idle. I’ve found the posts regarding the service bulletin from Indmar regarding the circulation pump on the forums here. My engine serial number is about 800 engines before the supposedly effectived circulation pumps. Ultimately, I am fairly certain that I’ve narrowed my high temp fluctuation issue to my circulation pump. Especially, since in addition to the temp fluctuations, my heater doesn’t seem to actually be pumping any warm water through the system (no leaks and I can blow water through it) and it is of course connected to the circulation pump. That all said, I can’t seem to easily find the circulation pump part number in the aforementioned service bulletin (551045SB). I can only find the circ pump with part number 551045. They appear to be nearly identical, except that 551045SB does *not* appear to have the water bypass hole on the left leg of the pump. The question is, does anyone know if these pumps are actually compatible? The engine block *appears* to have a corresponding hole for the bypass hole on the pump, but…admittedly I don’t know nearly enough about this sort of stuff yet and don’t want to create a bigger problem. I just hope I don’t need to continue to scour the internet for this mythical circ pump without a bypass hole Thanks in advance for any assistance.

This supports what we are seeing as well with lift sales. wake boat market is getting hit harder than othr market segments.. all are being hit but tow boats are being crushed more..

@23LSVOwner wow! By far the best set of Malibu wiring diagrams I've ever seen. Do you have them for other years too?
  26. I once found a cross reference guide for my boat trailer but I cannot find it anywhere. I want to say the calipers were from a 70 something Chevy sedan? Anyways if anyone can help me find the parts I need I would really appreciate it!

Yep, I was talking to the “Malibu Segment” which includes Malibu + Axis… this is the most relevant to folks on this forum.
