  2. I have thought the same about the support poles, and the fact that I didn't see any was put made me think that maybe there wasn't the proper gear for that. However looking at the picture of what was in the port aft locker suggests that there is in fact a vinyl clad Stainless cable there...

    Tommys vs Malibu

Got my boat back Friday from Tommy’s. They aren’t selling any boats right now. Sounds like some things are in the works, at least for the DFW dealership. I’m hopeful for a good outcome for the employees and current customers. Hard to imagine Malibu would give up one of, if not their strongest market in the country.
  4. The ECM cover is a nice to have, not necessary. The skylon pole should have some nylon-clad cables that run to the bow from the top of the pole, however, since it's a V drive, I believe there should also be some support poles laterally.
  5. Ok, lets forget about what you have done and try this. Check the media unit FADE and BALANCE setting to make sure they are centered Look at the suspect amp's settings to see if his has mode switch labeled something like 2CH and 4CH. If its 4CH move it to 2CH - Do the bow speakers work Y or N Y = See yah! N = swap the RCA from 1/2 to 3/4 and from 3/4 to 1/2 - working? Y or N Y See yah N = remove RCA from the working "working" amp and plug them into the suspect amp's 1/2 ports - bow speakers working Y or N Y = issue with the four RCA feeding the suspect amp. They could be Y'd just behind amp wall and one Y is bad N - Looking like an amp. However, I dont suspect amp as somehow some way you've made the bow speakers work and I cant make sense of it.

    Buffing the boat

FWIW my detail guy (40 years experience) who does a lot of ceramic coating advised me to stick with buffing and waxing vs ceramic coatings on fiberglass boats. He said that he has found because of water spotting, river scum etc. ceramic coating still requires buffing and waxing to keep it nice, and it doesn’t last as long on fiberglass as it does on metal painted surfaces. He basically did the math and said $3k+ for ceramic coatings pays for 6+ full boat details with buff and wax inside and out. The only way the ceramic coat boat looks as nice as the boat that got 6 details in 3 years is if you still did the detailing on the ceramic coated boat, and even then it would be hard to tell the difference.

    DIY line/handle supplier? Sound fuelish?

Says 89 or 93 for LS1. I would run non-eth 89/92/93, whichever was obtainable. I’m not sure if the manuals were addressing eth vs non-eth back in those days but I would just assume those engines are designed for non-eth fuel.

    DIY line/handle supplier? Sound fuelish?

No idea about the custom ski ropes but it sounds interesting and I’m sure there are niche suppliers for it similar to fishing rod blanks. You’ll probably find that the reasonably priced stuff available is suitable for your needs. As far as you fuel question goes, the specifications section is likely the best place to find your answer. 🍻

    DIY line/handle supplier? Sound fuelish?

I’d try asking on Ball of Spray. I don’t see much in the way of individuals custom making their own handles. But you can buy reasonable handles from S-Lines and Masterline as well.
  11. Please excuse my bad explanation as I’m not super tech savvy in the stereo department. Currently running two amplifiers. The amp in question has two sets of rca cables and I am only receiving sound from one set. If I swap the rca cables to my second amp I receive sound from both which leads me to believe it’s an amp issue? I could be completely wrong here. I can upload pictures if that would help understand my situation. Im not receiving any sound from bow of the boat unless I swap rca cables to other amp on any media mode. R or L. https://ibb.co/W3gpwXg https://ibb.co/S3vwJR3
  12. Im not clear on whats getting into what, but if you plug something into a completely different amplifier and the speakers then play, then those speakers are not connected to the amp you suspect is bad. Is this "set" of speakers 2 lefts or 2 rights or 2 fronts or 2 rear? Is this issue on all media modes? Tuner, USB, AUX, BT? It sounds like you have found a way to make the speakers play by moving or plugging something. This points to the issue is not the speakers and being upstream of the amp. Again, this is based on the info provided.
  13. Looking to replace an amp I have in a 2016 23lsv. Currently have a MMats MPA470 looking for opinions on a replacement. Issue I’m having: I am only getting one set of speakers to have output from this amp. I’m guessing it’s an amp issue (complete guess)..if I plug into my other amp I get output from the speakers that aren’t working..any ideas?
  14. Sorry. I didn’t take a photo when I had it removed.
  15. Thanks! That did the trick. Got all 3 relevant manuals.

    yes!

    Price Is Right :)

First number that came to mind is $19,995. I haven't looked at any comps, but I know it can cost a lot to do all the things you have done. I don't especially love the tower, and the hours are pretty low for that age which makes me leery too.

I completely agree with your take. As I look at it, I’m having trouble coming to terms with offering it for sale. At the same time however, I know someone will love it and create just as many amazing memories as we did. That’s a good feeling! Thanks brother for the feedback
  22. Well, we shall see on the flow rate. I was excited to find something that close. Too add to task, the injetors don't fit. When I talked to the tech at Indmar, he explained somewhere along the line the pilot on the injector was enlarged by GM. He expected that my year would be one of them affected. He advised reaming the hole using a shop vac to collect the cuttings. The injector hole in the intake is stepped. The smallest hole is for the seal. This size matched. There is a pilot above the seal. The OD of pilot of the replacement injectors is 5/8". The hole in my manifold and the pilot on the old injectors were 1/32 under. That step is in process now. I will grab some photos.
  23. No. It’s not flat and I think they will be back in stock in a few weeks. I JB welded the cracks today and started on the hose today with no leaks. Hopefully that will hold it until they are restocked.
  24. Well, brought it home today! Kids were pretty excited! Taking it out tomorrow to a small lake local to us. Towed good with my gladiator. Need some kind of tow mirrors. Or a camera facing backwards? Now a days there must be something like that? Anyway, really appreciate everyone’s help and guidance on purchasing this boat. I have plans for it, but those can probably wait till winter.

    Price Is Right :)

First, whoever ends up as owner will be very fortunate. A machine like this one's value is whatever a buyer would pay. It would be the perfect boat for a lot of people. If I was to ever upgrade... I'd ask a whole lot, and adjust to the buyer you think would be the best. I would ask near 30. Steve B.

Amen to that brother! On my list before I list
