    • good point - it could be coming off the paddle wheel. I will disconnect the depth gauge as it is more easily accessible. If lake temp persists then definitely picking it up on paddlewheel. We have GPS installed so paddlewheel speed disabled in the computer menus.  I also noticed the dealer did a SW update on the computer according to the winter storage work order.

Looking at airmar site and some youtube videos, it would appear the transducer body can be quickly swapped out.  I was pretty shocked to see this as $650 USD part on Bakes!  Glad i got couple years of warranty left.

@MalibuNation might have some insight on that.  They are a small MB and Viaggio pontoon boat dealer.

If memory serves me correctly, they are also a former Malibu dealer.

    • Hard warm starting can be caused by over fueling due to improper sensor data from the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor or from leaking injectors.  I've also experienced internal swelling of worn fuel lines cause hard starting or stalling after the engine was running for more than 30 minutes.

    • There is no external wedge position sensor on 2006-07 or 2010.5-2014 Malibu boats.

The wedge position is calculated by the Lenco wedge control box under the dash.  It uses the "lobe" count of the actuator motors to send the position data to the MMDC or Viper gauge controller.  The lobe design of the actuators was changed by Lenco in 2012 from a 3 lobe to 5 lobe design. The older 3 lobe actuators are no longer available and position sending issues can occur when they are replaced with the currently available 5 lobe actuators unless the Lenco control box is also upgraded.

    • Hello,

I have a Malibu barefoot boat 2003 with the Hammerhead 375 engine. When the engine is cold and I start the boat, it runs normally even under full and partial load. As soon as you drive for a longer period of time at a higher load and ease off the accelerator, the engine stops and is difficult to start. Our mechanic can't find the problem either.
