    • I find that people can and can’t weight boats correctly. I think you’d have to test both right after each other and weight them correctly to tell which is better.

    • Just to add to the list of possibles:

I had a single cyl misfire and it ended up being the fuel pressure regulator.

Maybe it could be something that simple?

    • Hey TJO, I'm glad you sent me the message, because I had not been notified of your reply.

I did have to take the HDS cover off to fix the issue.  It's basically just a through bolt, which is why when I turned the bolt head it never tightened because it was just spinning the nut on the bottom.  Once I had it apart it looked like the old sealant had just gotten, dried out, and worn away.  I was also missing a washer that was supposed to be there.  So the fix was to replace the missing washer, and put waterproof silicone sealant on both on the outside of the HDS and the inside.  I tightened down the whole assembly until it didn't move around side to side or up and down, but I didn't make it too tight because obviously it still needs to allow the steering cable to move.

It's been a while, and I just went out and took some pictures but I can't figure out how to upload them.  Can we only attached pictures from a URL?  Anyway, the setup is how I have it described below.  I'm not 100% sure on what I had on the inside, but I'm pretty sure it's right.

      bolt head

      metal washer

      plastic washer

      metal washer

      steering cable

      metal washer

      large metal washer

      silicone

      HDS

      silicone

      large metal washer

      smaller metal washer

      nut

Let me know if you need any more info, or if something above doesn't make sense.

Both 23's are very similar. Like I mentioned, I believe they moved the helm back 3" on the MXZ. Honestly the main difference is the bow and how you drive it. I had to change my dock to accomadate the wider bow if that is a concern for you. My suggestion is to make sure you demo. FInd what's important to you and go with it. You'll find that what is important to you may not be important to the next guy. If you like the looks of the pickle fork or need the room, go with it. It's not for everyone. The 23LSV is the highest production wakeboat for a reason.

Yeah I have an mxz demo in 2 weeks along with an sl450 I did an LSV last week.  Oddly enough the LSV just didn't feel like enough of an upgrade over my T22 for the huge price of change.  I think it's gotta have the MD6 the more I reflect on it.  That said I can drive or dock either design fine so not really a concern I prefer the look of a traditional bow but prefer the utility of t h e pickle.  At this point need to surf them and see if I have a preference.

I sware I keep finding people who sware the mxz surfs better than the LSV due to bow weight (makes sense) then others who say the opposite for hull reason.

Current decision making for the wife is going to Come down to storage, seats, and a cpl options lol

Hi Zippy, how does the power wedge position affect the wake? I’m having GSA installed on my 2010 23 lsv next week and any setup tips would be appreciated. I have power wedge, all 4 factory ballast and P&P rear ballasts. Thanks!

The wedge affects the waves push.  I usually am somewhere in the middle of the range on the wedge.  Full wedge makes my wave shorter with less push, in the middle it is a longer smooth wave with a large pocket.  With the GSA there is no need to list the boat to the surf side.  I Fill all my tanks and bags and move people and lead around to get the best wave.
