#1 cylinder miss firing!

2013 vtx. Last fall received service error code: #1 cylinder miss fire!

could not get in as all dealers were swamped winterizing boats, dealer suggested plugs , cap and rotor

did all of this, plugs looked ok, cap was a mess after 450 hours,  thought this would work

Boat ran fine on idle In driveway

put it in lake as soon as I tried to go more than idle speed, alarm went off with same code!  Running super rough at any speed greater than idle, same code appears!

now dealers swamped with summarizing boats!

any suggestions??  Thank you so much for the help

If thats the only cylinder and your ignition side is all good, compression test and cylinder leak down test would be my next stop. Both are easy tests if you have the tools or can rent them from oreilly, advance etc.

I would also consider changing the plug wires.  Maybe you can swap two and see if the problem moves.

Does anyone know how to clear a warning code!  Boat seams to be running fine now after messing with plug wires. Sounds better but still get service warning code from before!

some one said theee heat and cool down cycles and it would clear! Is this true?
