I don't want to spend hundreds to have the shop do it.

FYI, by the time you get a proper fill tool and coolant, it will still likely be hundreds to do it yourself.

Just one pair of speakers, bimini, 2 board racks.

But even new, it was pretty heavy.  I have always had to put something for the tower to rest on so it doesn't leave a dent in the dash.  I have the springs as tight as they will go.

I have a call out to see if I could send in a spring to have spec'd and increased. The video on YT shows a tower, speakers, and two empty racks so it seems like that should be a functional baseline.
Crazy thought but mine spring is out.... could it be that the springs are set too tightly and have been extended past max capacity? Would it make sense to try to "loosen" like it has a powerband or kick point for my hockey stick guys? @justgary thoughts on that? You seem to have some advanced knowledge if springs.

    • There is an Allen head drain plug on the lower part of the heat exchanger facing the engine.  Remove the plug to drain the coolant (I think a 9/32" Allen fits the plug).  I highly recommend using an Airlift (or similar) vacuum coolant tool to refill the system.

(My images are upside down today for some reason)

    • I know this is probably the biggest shot in the dark but if anyone could help me it would be GREATLY appreciated. I just rewired my entire 2008 Malibu Response LXi and I have 3 wires (only) that I’m not sure where they hook up, or if they hook up to anything at all. It was a real rats nest, and there were so many wires not being used, or just dead ended.

Well it won’t let me post pics for some reason, so I guess my question, is there a wiring diagram or schematic I can get (I’ll will pay) from someone or somewhere?
