But if this doesn’t do it with an Orbittal buffer and wool pad, I would color sand. And then come back to finesse it IIThen go to Jescars sealant.
This has always worked on my black boats. Don’t be afraid of the wool pad on the gel.
@Sparky450 Thanks !

Yeah running heavy you are going to be 8-12 gallons per hour of actual surfing. Much less for idling, stopping for rider switches, etc. but running heavy under power at 3500+ rpm no way are you in the 2.4 gph neighborhood.
Sometimes the fuel tank breather will force a gas pump to click off early. And if your fuel gauge is anything like those in every boat I’ve ever owned, it will still read “full” 15 gallons down.

If I were you, I'd start out with 3M's Finesse It II on a soft foam pad (like a Lake Country, or a Buff and Shine, orange polishing pad) and using a random orbital polisher. If that doesn't seem to quite do the trick, I'd try Maguiar's Scratch-X. If that still doesn't quite help, I'd try a polishing compound, and possibly a firmer pad (like a Buff and Shine dark blue medium foam pad).
Once the scratches have disappeared to your satisfaction, I'd reverse the order, using the less aggressive polish and pad stepwise, working back to using Finesse It II on a finishing pad. Then, i'd top that off with my wax of choice (Maguiar's, Collinite, or [my personal favorite] Starbrite Premium Marine Polish with PTEF).
There are, of course, a lot of products available to do the job. The above are just those that I have personally used and been pleased with the outcome.
Good luck!
@srab Thanks !

I'll take a look this weekend as well. I never liked how tight they got so if that valve from wakemakers addresses that, I'll be ordering for sure.

Disagree. When learning surfing, especially teaching kids, I definitely had some 3gal/hr days as the runs were short and the explanations/pickups/changeovers took forever. So while we would go out "surfing" for 3 hours, very little of that time was actually at surf speed. Nowadays, I usually observe 5-6 gal/hr total over an outing.
So claims of good fuel economy are highly affected by activity type/level.
And wouldnt believe any math based on fuel tank gauge - mine is often off by 1/4 tank or more
