What condition is the starting battery?

It's a year for two old. Great condition, it's an interstate. I'll triple check the connections but I did that yesterday.

Hey guys. I've got a 99 sportster that was starting to hesitate before turning over last year. It was worse this spring but always managed to get me home. Lots of battery power and no clicking, battery is a year old and always has lots of charge.

I assumed it was the original starter so I just ordered a replacement from ski dim. Went on easy, thought I was golden. Went to fire it up and it still has the same delay/hesitation before engaging the starter. Do you think it's a key mechanism issue or what?

What condition: starting battery and battery cables and connections?

    • I did this in my observers compartment last year. Got tired of reaching in to grab a dry towel only for them to be wet from water coming over the bow and entering the observer compartment. This works great. Keeps all my stuff dry and allows air flow for carpet to dry out quickly. Gonna do my bag compartments this year.

    • Gelcoat is not known for its ability to level well after spraying.  If you think you are sanding a lot now, wait until you spray some new gel on there.  Please post your progress!
