    • Hello,

I have a 2005 Malibu sunsetter LXI with a 325 monsoon which needs to have the alternator replaced.

Ive reached out to several dealers and nobody can seem to tell me what part # I need for a replacement.

can anybody assist me or guide me in the right direction on what Alternator part # i need to order?

    • I have no idea where this is coming from. Oil change to start the season and all seemed fine. Checked the level and was down at least three quarts. Any ideas?

If it is coming from the drain hose I can’t see where it attaches to the engine/oil pan

    • So for those of us following along we made a decision.  The Supra SL won the showdown.  I think I wanted Malibu to win because this forum has been such a great place and honestly the local dealer was fantastic..... BUT - The Supra just felt like it had better fit and finish overall.  The subfloor ballast (rear storage), the flip up rear seats, the surf storage in the back, the better stereo, power tower, the extra foot of length (more space), the thrusters, the extra bow storage, a few other extra options won the day.  Honestly the M220 throws a better wave that cleans easier/better - but the SL still throws a great wave (much better than our T22).  Picking her up on Friday so I'll toss a thread and pics later...

    • I did a similar transition myself (2019 22 LSV to 2024 23 LSV)....absolutely no regrets! The surf wave is significantly better. I finally landed a 360 this weekend after basically giving up surfing on my old boat and just foiling all the time.

I went with the LT4 on my 23 LSV because we boat at > 6k' elevation the majority of the time....and YOLO. The power is incredible. I had the base 6.0L 409 in my 22 LSV and had to surf at ~4K RPMs and was still limited on wedge options. I bet the M5 works with how you use the boat, but I'd encourage you to try it out first. Speaking from experience, there is nothing worse than dropping 6 figures and realizing you need more engine.
