B. This from the guy with the stinky Christmas tree??? Tongue.gif

Speaking of which, maybe there's a dead mouse hiding under your small adjustable pipe wrench?

OK, at the risk of incurring Jack's continued ridicule and attack on my manhood. . . Is there anything I can just soak them all in?

Pepsi or Coca-Cola.

See, I really AM trying to help in between bouts of LMAO. Innocent.gif

I don't know how I missed this thread.

Well, Hank. Did you ever get the stinky toolbox solved?

Maybe you could use the tools as a weight for your portable slalom course and then as suggested, get some new tools.

Maybe I should ask my son. He is working now for Clean Water Services. In spite of the name, the testing he does is not on the clean water, if you know what I mean. I wonder if the tools he uses get smelly?

The comments about the smell of propane gas made me think about my first year of med school when I took anatomy. I remember walking into an elevator with some classmates and some upperclassmen in the elevator starting making a loud sniffing sound and said, "Freshmen". We all reeked of formaldehyde. It was in our clothes, hair and skin pores. We didn't notice, but those around us sure did.

So perhaps, Hank, you should appreciate that you can notice the smell.

He is, indeed, a Freshman--he reeks of it.

I think I know what the smell is. I've found that Craftsman screwdriver handles in particular have a peculiar smell once they get old. You might need to let all the tools air out in the fresh air, throw away the crafty screwdrivers and buy all new Snap-On screw drivers.

I'm just repeating what my Snap-On guy said.

I've noticed certain plastics have a stinky smell, sniff your tools one by one and you'll find the culprit. I'll bet it will be a hard plastic srewdriver handle.

I would suggest you do this in private as to avoid any embarrassing moments.

I'm pretty sure that sniffing tools is illegal if not immoral in some states. ROFL.gif

This has to be the best topic ever.."Stinky Toolboxes"

Sounds like a bad p0rn0... ;)

You think this is something? Wait until Hank gets going on left-handed metric tools to fix his HDS. I wonder if left-handed tools smell more than right-handed tools? Hmmmm.... Biggrin.gif

When I first opened this a few weeks ago I was thinking baking soda was the answer. After reading the 4th or 5th reply I knew that wasn't the answer. With the laughter and more recently a vocabulary lesson I have concluded that there is no answer for the disfunctional family we have all become......Ahhhh the joys of owning a Bu. Crazy.gif
