I think I'm done making anymore large purchases for a while!

If you just bought a boat you are nowhere near being done with big purchases. :)

I hear ya!  Pretty much everything is going to increase, so chose your poison, right?!..  We locked in our build price which had an increase from 2021s msrp, but not by too much.  We also got just over 20% off msrp which we felt pretty good about all things considered.  I think I'm done making anymore large purchases for a while!

Red pill or blue pill... It's a wash.. although I know which would bring more enjoyment short term ha

Update:  locked in the build slot and financing terms were the same but just a larger amount.  Really excited!  This is our first new boat that we were able to design and option.  Dealer says end of July delivery!  It's a Supreme ZS232 and we will be one of the first 2022s in production.  Thanks for all the advice.  Although I will no longer be a Malibu owner, still love the brand and the people here!

Cheers!

Mike

bovhica   Supremes are still made by Fine LIne Idustries in Merced CA?   I googled it and Yes they are made at the same plant along with Centurion. Just down the street from the original Malibu Plant on Grogan Ave.

So your in good hands. I would assume some of the talent stayed in Merced after Malibu left.

Yes, Correct craft acquired Fine line a few years ago, but both supreme and Centurion are still made in the merced Cali plant.  Supreme is opening a new facility in Georgia in June.  That's likely where my new whip is going to be built, if I had to guess?  IIRC, supreme stopped making 2021 models very early and shifted their production resources to the Centurion builds.

It really depends on your goals and the bigger picture.  I completely agree don't overpay on interest.  We financed ours out 20 years to keep the payment on paper low, since that amount goes into other ratios when buying homes, investment properties.  If you lock in at 10 or 15 your payment on paper will be higher which means your ratios are adversely affected.  You can always pay more than the minimum and it has the same effect.  We finance all investment property on 25-30 year notes even though most payoff in 10 or less. Just another thing to think about.  Cheers!

I know it can be a challenge, but you should really try hard to move up to a 15 yr loan.  Chances are you will learn to live with the slightly larger payment, but you will appreciate saving thousands in interest.

100k @ 4.49% for 20 years = $632 per month (Total Interest paid = $53,005)

100k @ 4.49% for 15 years = $764 per month (Total Interest paid = $38,529)

100k @ 4.49% for 12 years = $899 per month (Total Interest paid = $29,531)

I recognize we all have different finances, but I hate seeing people paying enormous amounts of interest.  The 15 year loan is only another $140 a month and is such a better financial move.  OK i'll get off my financial soap box now. :-)

Congrats on the new boat!

For new boat buyers, what have you been quoted lately? I just received 3.99% for 20 years. In NO way will I extend out the payments that long, but I thought it was a pretty solid offer.

I'm curious, has anyone received a lower rate lately? If so, who did you finance through?

I hope to take delivery of my 2021 in the next few weeks. I have the cash to pay outright, however the bank is offering 1.98% for 48 months that sounds nice to keep cash in reserve.

Hello All,

New to the wakeboard boat world.

I am looking at 2022 Supreme zs232.

Today the dealer said there wouldn’t be a discount due to the current market. Which isn’t unexpected.

Is anyone experiencing this???

Has anyone bought a boat out of state dealer for a better deal?

I am trying to get the ZS232 as close to 100k. Current estimate is around 130k.

@bovhicaHow did you get 20% off MSRP? Where are you located? Did you end up under 100k?

Thanks in advance!

I'm in Boise area and ordered from BoardCo in Salt Lake.  I sent you a pm with more detail. Being a Malibu forum, it doesn't seem appropriate to discuss purchase numbers and especially on another brand.

Update…. Finally took delivery today!  6 months late, but it’s winter here so no big deal.  Rate moved up to a 4.74% on the 20 year loan since our summer quote. We decided to do 15 year for 4.49 instead, original quoted rate on the 20 year.

Here are some pics.

Just messed around with the zones this morning and that’s about the range we found comfortable as well.  Funny thing was all zones were set between 20 and 30 from the factory. I turned on the tunes and was thinking I wasted my money on the stereo upgrade and I was a little pissed. Found the zone control and felt a LOT better about the upgrade. I can’t imagine how good it would sound with tunable amps!

What rates are people getting today on loans. NW inboard said depending on credit, which is great, 8-10 percent.  I can trade in my paid off 09.  Hummm.

The variable rates are high, but most places have a fixed over 15 option that’s quite a bit lower. Good luck!
