Beeping alarm

Recommended Posts

Getting a beeping alarm from under the dash when the boat is running. No pattern just constant dull beeps. I’ve changed out the oil pressure sensor and oil sending unit. Oil pressure  is good at 40psi, voltage is 13 on the gauge, engine temp is 160 on the gauge.   Boat is a Sunsetter LXi with the Indmar 325hp Monsoon.
How do I add a video clip of the beeping?

Have you checked the water hose line directly after your impeller?

There is a screen there that can collect water muck that will restrict the flow of water to cool your transmission.

A hot transmission should trigger the beeping.

Does it continue right after starting, or after high(er) RPMs?  If it starts around 3000 RPM then look at your knock sensor.

Alarm happens right away after starting. And it’s not the depth alarm. I disconnected the water temp switch and water temp sensor and it’s neither one of those. Wondering if it’s not a diagnostic code for something.

BEEP CODES — the 4 maintenance items that can trigger the beeper are:

  •  High engine water temperature (>203*)
  •  Low oil pressure (<6 PSI)
  •  High transmission temperature (>140?*)
  •  A diagnostics trouble code

Oil pressure sending goes to the dash gauge; oil pressure switch tells ECM that all is good, otherwise beeping.
